Thanks to an innovative idea from ESPN and two FCS powers and a new, very big idea known as the College Football Playoff, the 2014 Division I college football season will set a record for length. It begins on Aug. 23 and ends Jan. 12, 2015, a span of 143 days.
And the beginning and end will be televised.
Below are games scheduled for national networks, with listed times p.m. Eastern unless otherwise noted. Dates and times are subject to change. Games will be added throughout the season.
