hey folks,

i found out late last week that i have a tumor on my brain (on the cerebellum). thankfully, it appears to be a benign mass...the location/size, etc. make it an easy target and there should be no long term effects and no worries of re-growth.
Well, I'm both sad and happy for you. Let us know when you're out of surgery and on the mend. You and your family will be in my prayers. Heal quickly, buddy.

I'd offer you prayers but you know that's not my thing. Instead I'll say I'm happy you live in 2014 in one of the best medical cities in the South so I know you have access to the best medical care around. I'll be thinking about you and sending as much positivity your way as I can

well, the doc did say there shouldn't be any long term cognitive issues so there's no chance of me turning into a conservative ;)
I was doing some research on the cerebellum -- and......

apparently it determines how fast you will move after the zombie apocalypse -- so please make sure they keep it intact ;)

Dang. Been there. My phone call was "I need to see you at 8:00 in the a.m.; you'll want to bring your wife." Mine was, in fact malignant. (Thankfully, the highly-skilled surgeons & med folks out at M.D. Anderson have me still around, years beyond what statistical probabilities suggest.)

All of that said to say, I well recall how s l o w l y the clock moves when awaiting results. Glad your news is not as bad as it could be. Keep pressing on, dude!

RTR,

i was talking with my best friend yesterday and he suggested that this is a sign that i should start cooking meth and become a kingpin ala walter white. i got a good laugh out of that.
Aren't you from Winston County? Should come natural to you. :)

Hang in there, dude.

My best friend went through that almost 5 years ago. I remember walking through that with him and the fear and anxiety he and his family endured. But now they are on the other side. He is doing great now - aside from being a little more emotional now than he was before, he's back to normal and has been for years. Will pray the same for you.

I've had the "You've got a tumor, let's go to the OR now" speech before and it isn't a lot of fun.

Glad to hear it isn't life threatening and hope you are on the mend quickly.

Thoughts are with you and your family 92. I'm sure this will go flawlessly and you'll come through with flying colors. No worries brother.

Hey do me a favor: don't wait too long after your surgery to get on here and resume posting. I want to see if your politics change at all immediately after you get that tumor removed or if it takes more time. Just joshing - thought maybe you could use a chuckle.

Good news is Alabama is slowly getting into the medical marijuana realm. You can likely have a permanently happy outlook now and it's completely legal.

Good luck btw and bribe your nurses with candy. We did that when the munchkin was born and they treated my wife like royalty :)

i'm basically home bound until surgery, so i'm sure y'all will get your fill of me over the next couple of weeks. ;)

i figure if the surgeon slips, i may start doing crazy stuff like using capital letters
