It's almost here! Lets predict the SEC in 2014.

SEC East
USC: 11-1
Georgia: 11-1
Florida: 8-4
Missouri: 7-5
Tennessee: 6-6
Vanderbilt: 5-7
Kentucky: 2-10

The early season matchup between South Carolina and Georgia will loom large on the division standings in November. I see South Carolina taking the game at home but dropping a game late against Auburn on the road. They'll hold onto their tiebreaker, finally get over the hump, and drive down to Atlanta for the SECCG. Florida will improve but not enough to break into the SECCG discussion. Muschamp may be in trouble as I see losses to Saban, Spurrier, Richt, and Fisher calling into question his ability to compete with the big dogs. Tennessee will somehow dig their way to 6 wins and end their bowl drought. They won't beat Alabama but they will restore some respectability by going to a lower tier bowl.

SEC West
Alabama: 11-1
Auburn: 10-2
LSU: 9-3
Ole Miss: 9-3
MSU: 8-4
TAMU: 7-5
Arkansas: 4-8

Alabama and Auburn will meet again with the division title at stake. Alabama and Auburn will chug through the first few months of the season but each will get tripped up against their "second" major rivals on the road (Alabama @ LSU; Auburn @ UGA) in November. This time the Iron Bowl is in Tuscaloosa and the Tide will seize the home momentum and revenge factor for a tough 4th quarter win. LSU will drop their first game of the season to Wisconsin and go sideways a bit in back to back weeks @Auburn and @Florida. LSU will turn it around with a victory over Ole Miss and upset Alabama in Baton Rouge by frazzling their first-year starter at QB. Those two home victories leave their fanbase satisfied and once again stops the Les Miles questions common in their fanbase in their tracks.

SEC Championship
Alabama v. South Carolina: Well with all the talk during the off-season, this had to happen...and in my fantasy world it does! With a playoff bid on the line, I think this would be a classic SECCG. Spurrier pulls out all the stops but "whoever-wins-the-QB-job" has a 2009 SECCG McElroy moment. After a whole season where Alabama has kinda masked their young QB with great runners, easy throws to talented skill guys, and good defense...they get a big game out of the QB and all but clinch a playoff bid.

I think that Alabama and Georgia will both be undefeated and meet in the SECCG. If it plays out this way, I wonder if the loser will be allowed into the field of four.

I could go with that but I'd flip MSU and Ole Miss

Needs more optimism. Something like below

West:
Bama: 15 - 0
Auburn 0 - 12
LSU 1-11

East:
Tennessee 0-12

And the rest can be whatever.

I choose Bama and Florida to win it ALL! ;)

Seriously - I can't make a call on this one - except to say Bama has the best shot to win the whole sheebang.

I do feel key to winning will center on the running game - both having one and stopping it on D.

With all the new QB's it seems like the run will be a popular offensive component.

Now which teams are loaded at RB....and have an outstanding run D?

Gotta look that up....

EDIT: Preliminary data suggests Bama and the Dawgs.....I'll keep checking resources....

SEC East
USC: 10-2 (6-2) 1-1 1-1
Georgia: 10-2 (6-2) 1-1 1-1
Florida: 9-3 (6-2) 1-1 1-1
Tennessee: 6-6 (3-5)
Missouri: 4-8 (2-6)
Kentucky: 4-8 (1-7)
Vanderbilt: 4-8 (0-8)

Serious 3 way tie for first. Serious inasmuch as all 3 are 6-2, all 3 are 1-1 against each other, and all 3 are 1-1 against West opponents. Therefore, tie goes all the way to the 8th, and last, tie-breaker, in which UF is eliminated due to loss to F$U. USC wins 2 way HTH tie-breaker over UGA after UF is eliminated.

SEC West
Alabama: 12-0 (8-0)
Ole Miss: 10-2 (6-2)
MSU: 9-3 (5-3)
Auburn: 8-4 (4-4) 2-0
Arkansas: 7-5 (4-4) 1-1
LSU: 8-4 (4-4) 0-2
TAMU: 5-7 (1-7)

SEC Championship
Alabama: 1-0
South Carolina: 0-1

This one look about right to me. We might get dinged once, but the order of finish makes sense.

Bonus: We get Oklahoma first - a close win, then hammer UCLA in the championship game. Payback for last years' Sugar Bowl and that miserable game in 2000 in the Rose Bowl on consecutive weeks leading to another national championship for the Crimson Tide.

Only if the game ended similar to their previous meeting in the SECCG, or perhaps similar to Bama &/or UGA-*u last season. And I know the CFP said they would not be into rematches, but they would seed them 1-4 or 2-3. There will NEVER EVER be another all SEC NCG.

Edit: LOL at myself for including Bama &/or UGA-*u. Those games are the perfect definition of the term, "one hundred year flood plain". Won't happen but every one hundred years!

Second edit: Scratch UGA-*u. Key play in USC's win over Bama in 1978, just 36 years ago (not 100), was almost identical to the UGA-*u play.
