The adjustment period only applies to fall camp. Once school opens, you are just in regular practice and the rule doesn't apply. Partly I think that has to do with the prevalence of two-a-days in camp. It also probably takes into account the rising roster limit when school starts -- if those kids had to stay out of full pads for 5 days, we'd practically be to our travel day. And of course, everyone knows on the first day of practice the temperature in Tuscaloosa automatically ratchets down from mid 90s to mid 70s.
Maybe outside linebackers are impervious to heat injuries and contact injuries.

Another bullet in the gun with Tim Williams return. Our pass rush just improved (along with A'Shawn).
I've be eager to see Tim Williams play since we signed him. Hope he can get his act together and contribute this year.
