Several times the refs weren't in position yet and missed some pre-snap penalties.

The real question is if they had that extra ref or not. Texas A&M ran 99 plays, that's more than the fastest offense has averaged, ever...
In either case, it's not encouraging, it seems they're still letting the offenses have their way.

Well, Ole Miss has 14 penalties and ran 20 less plays, so that gives me a little hope.
I was actually watching the play clock to see what was happening and A&M was snapping the ball with 17 seconds or so run off, so they still had 23 seconds left on the play clock. The Mississippi game looked slower to me.
