JEFFERSON | Jackson County wide receiver Caleb Smith knows he has big shoes to fill this season.
That’s why the Sandy Creek transfer went right to former Jackson County receiver Xavier Harper, who led the area with 62 receptions for 1,164 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns last season, to learn the ins and outs of the Panthers’ offense.
Smith studied Harper’s highlight tape. On his first day at Jackson County, he met Harper in person.
