I'm wondering the same. We're basically conceding 5 yards per play. Why don't we play more press coverage?

A noticeable one...How much difference is their from the lack of DePriest in the middle?
BS really does bring a different dynamic to the offense. There were 2 or 3 plays Blake kept us from taking a sack
I agree I against the hunh. I am beginning to think we just have to be content to get stops when we can and outshoot em. Can't afford special teams breakdowns in those games thoughI don't think I'd go as far as great defenses being dinosaurs, but I do think we have to learn to accept results which include more yards against us than we would have thought possible a few years ago...
Probably true, but it is difficult to adjust to a Bama defense that has a history of completely shutting down the competition. Times are changing and it appears we will have to out gun the opposition in the future.I don't think I'd go as far as great defenses being dinosaurs, but I do think we have to learn to accept results which include more yards against us than we would have thought possible a few years ago...
Only for now. It's a young team. Our start against VT in 09 didn't go quite this well by halftime. We have to change what we call "great". I think the days of allowing single digit scores and low yardage is quickly disappearing.
Today (and Thursday night's games) are just the tip of the iceberg IMHO of what to expect this season.I don't think I'd go as far as great defenses being dinosaurs, but I do think we have to learn to accept results which include more yards against us than we would have thought possible a few years ago...
Some people just don't know football.Omg, there is this one person I follow on twitter that I want to smack in the face. She is anti Sims to the extreme. She is still saying our problem is Sims.
So blind....and stupid.
In all fairness, the D has only given up 10 points. While it's not 2011 or 1992 defensive level, we're doing pretty well on that side of the ball. WV is not FAU or FIU or North Texas. We are playing a pretty decent team.
Is she watching the game? Sims is most decidedly not the problem.Omg, there is this one person I follow on twitter that I want to smack in the face. She is anti Sims to the extreme. She is still saying our problem is Sims.

Tend to agree but I'm sure we *will* win another NC if not this season, then another one. This season though, I don't see anything that causes me to worry that CNS has forgotten how to coach and bring em in. RTR!!!Today (and Thursday night's games) are just the tip of the iceberg IMHO of what to expect this season.
It's going to be a very interesting - if not very surprising - season for most, I expect.
Yep, I want to see our TEs get the rock every now and then. Would love to see if Sims can complete a deep pass tooMy only issues with the offense are the lack of OJ Howard and no vertical passing whatsoever. The defense looks poor. Where is the push from the D line? That's incredibly disappointing.
And learn from those struggles...Folks,
I'd rather gel over the season with some struggle (2009) than peak too soon (2010).
Should have been 17/19, he threw two bad balls, one throw away. He does have to make those throws. If you would have told me Blake Sims had a line like this at halftime:
Blake Sims 15/19 165 8.7 0 0 --
I'd have never believed you. It's up there (and slightly better) than Trickett:
Clint Trickett 13/22 168 7.6 1 0 --
