Alabama is more known for stout run-stoppers and NFL-bound linebackers and defensive backs than fleet-footed big men chasing down quarterbacks. It has routinely paid off with a string of highly rated defenses, but this group seems to have a notable abundance of athletic pass rushers among the front seven to send in pursuit.
:biggrin2: I really think we'll have more than 22 sacks this year, and something tells me we'll see lot of more fumbles and ints. I don't care what anyone says, the defense has definitely improved compared to last year. The numbers may look skewed due to the first game this season and possible with Texas A and M, but at the end of the season, we should be in top 5 in defense. I think we'll know litlte more about our defense's identify this weekend. I'm starting to see little patterns with our playcalling, so we'll see. Defense will be playing with chip on the shoulder, because Saban has been on their butts all week so this weekend should be interesting.Alabama ranked ninth in the Southeastern Conference with 22 sacks last season and currently stands tied for third with Missouri and Texas A&M. The Tide has three sacks in each of its first two games, a number the defense reached just three times in 13 games a year ago.
