I was waiting for this after the most recent concussion. I am sure it was a tough decision for him but one he will glad he made in about twenty years or so.

I think it might be given up in a few years if and when charlie succeeds. I think charlie is trying to recreate the Darrell Royal image of dignity and integrity of Texas of the old days; I dont know if fans will follow. but it is very sad

Smart choice. Use that education to get a great job! Football is not worth getting alzheimer's by the age of 40.

Always sorry to hear that a student athlete has to abandon his sport but I agree he made the right call and has his whole life ahead of him to do things without serious brain-related repercussions.

I bet because of this - some unique doors will be opened for him going forward.

Kid showed a lot of guts and maturity.

(unlike that other QB in the news right now :rolleyes: )
