Clarke Central and Salem needed every bit of 48 minutes to determine Friday night’s game.
The difference for the visiting Seminoles (3-1) proved to be kicker Khimahni Brooks, whose 21-yard field goal with 1:24 left in the fourth quarter led to a 19-17 victory, their first over Clarke Central since 2004.
“The will to win proved to be the difference tonight”, said Salem head coach John Starr. “Both teams played really hard all night; we were just really fortunate in the end.”
