Each member of the Commerce football team gathered at midfield shortly after making a statement with their play on the field at Athens Christian Friday night.
The group huddled up and opted not to chant about the 10-7 victory, instead breaking it down by saying, “Region champs,” in unison.
The Tigers took a major step toward achieving that goal with the win over the Eagles, who, like Commerce, entered undefeated in region play.
The Tigers (4-1 overall, 3-1 in region) now have sole possession of first place in Region 8-A.
