The thing is LSU sucks this year, they're the second worst SEC West team. Sure, Alabama's game against Arkansas was pretty bad, but LSU got blown out by Auburn and barely beat Florida. That game just doesn't look nearly as good as it did at the time. The LSU score is deceiving. MSU really pushed LSU around in the home opener of an enlarged Death Valley. LSU should never have gotten close to being in that game late.
I didn't say Miss. State was a bad team, they're one of the top teams in the SEC West, I just don't see how they are the best team in the SEC West, people for some reason want to underestimate Ole Miss and overestimate Miss. State and that confuses me. Another poster was like except for a few games.... let that sink in, Miss. State has held every team to below average scoring. Oh wow, that's impressive...LSU entered the fourth quarter down by 3 scores. They gained half of their yards in the fourth quarter due to being in "comeback mode." Not like that game was a back and forth contest.
Auburn killed lsu and MSU thrashed auburn. So what's your point about by bringing lsu into this. I personally think both missippi schools are great but I would take dak over Bo anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. MSU's one weakness is their roller coaster type games in which opponents make up ground late. Take the auburn game for example, if Mullen didn't fake the punt or call for a pass on the goaline they beat the boogs by 3 or 4 touchdowns and auburn would be outside the top ten. So yes they deserve a top 4 rating and when you compare schedule difficulty at this point they have ole sis beat. The thing is LSU sucks this year, they're the second worst SEC West team. Ole Miss held every single opponent to a season low in scoring! My point is that Miss. State isn't as good as some people think, not that they're not good.
If your post was a Jeopardy answer...I'd ding in and give this question--"What is the Everly Brothers...Dream, Dream, Dream"!I want Ole Miss to win out, win the SEC, and get into the playoff.
I want us to win out and get into the playoff.
I want to beat FSU to get to the championship game.
I don't really care who Ole Miss beats to get to the championship game.
And then we'll have two SEC teams in the championship game of the playoff that only came about because people wanted to make sure that two SEC teams never got into the championship game again.
I'm a big fan of irony.
I think auburn will beat ole miss. I think Gus has a veteran qb on the road and will have an emotion driven team that will test ole miss's run defense, but for some reason I still think we will beat auburnYes they have been impressive, but IMO even if they beat us they will not beat Ole Miss in Oxford. Now the real question is will auburn beat OM in Oxford.
If you read my original post, you can see what my point was because I stated it (which to reiterate is that Miss. State's defense isn't that great).Auburn killed lsu and MSU thrashed auburn. So what's your point about by bringing lsu into this.
If you are talking about this season API played at Starkvegas. In case that changes anything. Or are you thinking Ms State is another version of the barn what with all the cowbells. :biggrin2:I am not as impressed as when they beat Texags. But they did beat the barn at the barn. Interesting that CFB Daily had Sheridan on. He said ! According to westgate sportsbook , Bama and FSU were favorites to win the NCAA, with Bama a slight favorite on a neutral field. He also said Bama is favored over everyone on their schedule. That , of course would include the Bulldogs. He also said Bama would be favored in a rematch with Ole Miss.
I will agree. Ole Miss has better talent on defense. State has a better QB. Two turnovers on your first two plays will get you beat every time. Auburn gave that game away.If you read my original post, you can see what my point was because I stated it (which to reiterate is that Miss. State's defense isn't that great).
Anyway, as I also said I'm still not sure Miss. State is better than Auburn. People keep talking about the differences between final scores and the way the game actually went, well Auburn gave them the game in the first quarter, and Miss. State just hung on from there. The yards were similar, and if you replay that game I'm not sure Miss. State wins again. Once again, not saying Miss. State is a bad team, but they've done nothing to demonstrate to me what they're actually the best team in the SEC West.
Both Ole Miss and Alabama have a larger point differential between offense and defense. Miss. State is good, but you can put points on them.
Playing Devil's advocate, TAMU was in the same situation against us and LSU was in the same situation against AU, and neither of them did much of anything in the 4th quarter.LSU entered the fourth quarter down by 3 scores. They gained half of their yards in the fourth quarter due to being in "comeback mode." Not like that game was a back and forth contest.
UAB had 3 touchdown passes of 75 yards or more. A busted coverage here or there in the second game of the season shouldn't be that surprising.
TAMU had over 170 yards in the fourth quarter. They were down 41-17, so they had to do whatever they could to get back in the game.
