In my mind, this is definitely a time if you take the day off, you're excused even if you're a millionaire+ college coach. Sad to hear this for him.

sometimes it helps to get your mind off it for awhile. it helped me when my dad died to just get away from it for awhile.

As others, I'm very sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to CLM. I worked the night my mother died, it's the way of my family. It helps to cope and know life is going to go on.
