Mizzou, Georgia, or Florida is going to win the East.

Mizzou is 4-1 in conference play with aTm, UT, and Arky left to play. I'm guessing they'll win two, lose one and finish 6-2 holding the tie breaker over Florida. But if they lose 2 they finish 5-3.

Georgia is 4-2 with Kentucky and the Barn left. My guess is the Dawgs beat Kentucky and lose to the Barn finishing 5-3 with the tie breaker over Mizzou.

Florida is 3-3 conference with Vanderbilt and USCe still to play. Both teams are horrible so the Jorts should wind up 5-3 with a tie breaker over Georgia.

We could be looking at a three way tie in the East with three 3 loss teams. Maybe some of you guys more knowledgeable than I of the tie breaker rules can figure out who would represent the East.

Its hard to believe how weak the East is compared to the West.

A three way tie is decided as such.

A. Combined head to head record among the tied teams;
B. Record of the tied teams within the division;
C. Head to head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place);
D. Overall Conference record against non divisional teams;
E. Combined record against all common non divisional teams;
F. Record against the common non divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non divisional) and proceeding through other common non divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with 2.A.);
Rule C would probably decide it.

Using your example with Missouri currently being 4-1 in the conference and winning 2 of last 3 they would end with a record of 6-2. We only play 8 conference games so Georgia and Florida would finish with records of 5-3 using your example.

I was listening to sports radio this afternoon in Atlanta. They were talking this subject. One of them brought up the possibility of MIZZOU winning the east , then winning the conference. It is a long shot, but it could happen. Jim Delaney would be ecstatic.

If the east champ wins the sec, the conference may not get a sec team in the playoff. The sec champ is not guaranteed a spot and a two or three loss sec team from the east as our champion would be a perfect excuse for them to leave us completely out.
