So, continue to lose money.......fine by me.Auburn spokeswoman Cassie Arner said that the school doesn’t have written guidelines governing the distribution of football tickets. She said that Auburn didn’t sell Alabama and Georgia tickets to the general public in part because it didn’t want scalpers to end up selling them to rival fans. “Our goal is not to have empty seats at the stadium,” she said. “We especially don’t want any seats to be occupied by fans of other schools, including Georgia or Alabama fans.”
This.....What a lot of people might be overlooking, is the fact that Auburn spends too much money, not that they don't make enough. They insist on trying to keep up with Alabama, and the only way they can do that is via subsidies that make up for spending that they are in no way justified in doing.
Ironically, Alabama fans paying taxes are helping Auburn spend money to try and keep up with Alabama.
They can spot fakes pretty easily. So be sure to misspell words and use poor grammar so they will think you are a barber.Hmm I might send an email to the Auburn athletic department next year and see if they'll sell me some iron bowl tickets if I pretend to be a barner.
Exactly. It's like Reagan's Star Wars strategy that broke the Communist Bloc, accelerating the end of the Cold War through a battle of spending. It costs a lot of money to try to keep up with big brother. Barney will always be a day late and a dollar short.
The list of former head coaches and assistants on the payroll is a long one and has to be very expensive. While most schools pay out the remaining contract Aubie pays out hush money beyond the contract. One must wonder how Auburn paid what amounted to about eight million bucks total to get out of a home and home with Florida State after firing Terry Bowden. Or how they had all that money to tell Chizik to "go broadcast on TV."
Or how they were able to pay Scam, Eric Ramsey, Charles Barkley, and so many documented others.
