For those who missed it due to "Riot Watch In Ferguson," the President has fired his third SecDef. Despite assurances from the Obama Administration that Hagel has resigned, sources close to the decision have said, "Make no mistake, Hagel was fired."
Michele Flournoy's name is being bandied about as a replacement. She will be selected to due to her lack of Y chromosomes, but she might actually be competent, which would make her unusual in this administration.

MSNBC is reporting that Flournoy's competitor for the nomination is a yet-to-be-named hispanic gay midget tranny. I'm sure he/she competent as well and his/her status has nothing to do with the nomination.

When one guy calls ISIS the gravest threat to American security and the other one calls them the JV team, somebody has to go.
True. Still, why the President is so adamant that reality shall not impinge on his ideologically-based view is a curious thing. He really is like Adolf Hitler in the late stages of WW II, maneuvering units that no longer existed, because he refused to see reality for what it was. Obama suffers from the same mental illness (although his country's situation is not as dire as that of der Furher in 1945). The pathology is just as real, however.

On a scale of 0 to 100, where would you put it? He still has 2+ years to bring this country down to the last days of der Fuhrer.

Some people think he'll have a third term, maybe fourth and with a fifth he'd exceed FDR. Oh, well Emperor for Life is what he really wants. The U. S. Constitution will not hinder this guy. Just look at Immigration. The U. S. Constitution is no longer even relevant to him. Can't you visualize James Madison turning over in his grave? The Legislative Branch no longer makes laws. The Executive Branch (singular: Emperor) has added that to his powers. When will he assume Judicial powers?

I don't know, man, Deutschland in 1945 was in pretty deep kimchi.

One commentator said that one of the reasons the republicans won't impeach him is that they are not sure he would vacate the office is found guilty. That is reason enough to remove him right there, in my book.
The legislative branch has been neutered and reduced to crawling to the Federal judiciary to beg them to stop this lawless President. Of course, the Federal judiciary is will take a pass.
This guy is really bad news.
Thank goodness for the XXII amendment (assuming The One agrees to abide by it). The jury is still out on that.

Hagel was placed in that position at least in part as a slap in the face to Republicans. Hagel had made come earlier comments that did not seem too friendly towards Israel/Netanyahu and definitely did not agree with the Republican pro-Israel dogma. To his credit, Hagel has come around and actually has a great relationship with Israel now. But Obama did not hire him because he liked him. Yet another casualty of the Emporer.

About 0.

Comparing the US as it is today to Hitler's Germany (particularly at the end of his reign) means that either:
- hyperbole is more important than accuracy or
- one has no accurate view of the history of Germany under Hitler.

Not that crazy.
Clinton calls for third term.

Clinton said during the give-and-take that it's conceivable an ex-president like himself "could be re-elected." "Clinton had obviously researched the subject," since he spoke "for five minutes about constitutional law and academic studies about the prospect" of revising the 22nd Amendment limiting a president to two terms. "Some constitutional experts think it is possible." Clinton told his audience.

"I loved being president," Clinton said. "And I would have probably done the job forever, if I could have, if we didn't have a two-term limit."

The metaphor of Frodo and the Ring come readily to mind. "Can I just look at it one more time? I promise I won't try to keep it." "But the ring has a will of its own..."

Did Bill Clinton never hold these opinions while in office and suddenly, the day after he left office have an epiphany about the XXII Amendment and the virtues of repealing it?

If one surveys the recent Presidents and assesses the likelihood that the President would not honor the terms of office, BHO stands out in a crowd.
Nixon: Certainly was the most likely President to decline to leave office when his term ended.
Ford: Not likely at all to do so.
Carter: Not likely at all.
Reagan: Not likely at all.
Bush the Elder: Not likely at all.
Clinton: Maybe, in the right circumstances. (see his comments above)
Bush the Younger: Not likely at all.
Obama: Probably the most likely of any President since Nixon to succumb to this temptation, especially given BHO's unbelievably latitudinous construction of Federal and Presidential powers and willingness to weaponize the bureaucracy against his political opponents. Maybe not terribly likely, but certainly not inconceivable. And not inconceiveable that some Americans would support him in the endeavor.
