I remember a time or two when he had the opportunity to get rid of the ball and took a sack; one time for sure taking Bama out of field goal range. Even though he probably already knew the proper thing to do I think making this mistake in a game was when he really learned it.

Blake has had a phenomenal season. He will become our single season passing yards leader after our game with Missouri. Very proud of him. 3 more to go Blake!!!!

Coach McElwain's CSU QB Grayson is up there too. He's a great coach who will likely have many offers to be a head coach elsewhere if he chooses.

Just as interesting how often Mariotta does get sacked, about 3 per game on average.
You highlighted how Marcus has 29 sacks but left out the fact that about 11 of those came during the two games (WSU, AZ, where the O-line was completely destroyed and we were forced to patch it up and rely on novices). Also interesting how his 2 interceptions weren't highlighted in red.

Mostly because I really don't give a rat's body part about Mariotta; my post was primarily about Blake and how close he is on Mariotta's trail although he never gets mentioned in the same conversations. I did note that it is interesting that his O-line can't seem to protect him according to statistics ... you know ... those pesky facts? Still, 2 INTs is an impressive stat that I did overlook and I have gone back and made it red, just for you! :)

Sims is a good scrambler. It's a little strange to see Bama with a mobile QB, something new and interesting.

Indeed. That's the beauty of kiffin though. There have been many times this year that his play calling has had me ready to throw the remote. Still, his system is perfect to develop a guy like Blake, and I don't think our offense would have seen the success it has with any other coordinator in the business.

The thing I respect most about Sims though, is he looks to run last. He would much rather throw the ball, and only run when he has to. Much the same way Mariota seems to play from the limited times I've seen him. Quarterbacks who use their athletic ability to their advantage without relying it too heavily are the quarterbacks we all want to build our dream teams around.
