Iwould suggest you go and buy digital antenna or digital converter box, and test them out day before the game, to make sure you have everything set up and ready to go.
You probably live in Birmingham.I can literally connect two two wires together with alligator clips and get crystal clear CBS in HD.
I'm 40 miles away from the closest station but my town is also on a hill. You probably live in Birmingham.
It's great to be a Directv subscriber at this time!I don't know how to post a link to the story correctly, sorry. I was told today that tomorrow CBS pulls programming indefinitely from DISH. That means no football for us Dish customers.

Except for not having access to watch ESPN app. I have borrowed account to do so....It's great to be a Directv subscriber at this time!
If have my DirecTv dish on the roof on the backside of my house-not visible from the street. I also pay someone to mow my yard so those two aren't problems for me. I am thinking about switching to Comcast since I have Comcast for internet. I think it would be easier to have everything under one account..I switched from Directv to Uverse in July and am happy with that decision. I'll never go back. I've heard a lot of horror stories about Dish so they'll never get my business either.
And I love not having that dish out in the yard (and having to mow around it) anymore!

the dispute mostly affects 14 cities like new york and chicago, where the cbs stations are owned and operated locally. it may also affect showtime and cbs sports network, two other cable channels the company owns.

please find your market below to see which stations could be lost. You may also lose the ability to watch programming on showtime and cbs sports network.

I have the antenna and I would not trade it for cable or Direct/Dish. Of course I do miss ESPN but not $90.00 worth. If there is a CBS affiliate, in your area, this will tell you if there is, and what size antenna you would need.
http://antennaweb.org/Address.aspx
Once you get the antenna up, it costs nothing.
Won't work for the playoffs or the bowl games, since ESPN has a monopoly on that, but at least it will work for Saturday.
We have been able to pick up local broadcast stations for free since the beginning of television, and it's still that way. The only problem is that cable channels, like ESPN, have so much money now and are able to outbid the major networks for key programming. But you can pick up the SEC Championship for free with an antenna this Saturday since it is on CBS and your local CBS affiliate emits its signal from their antenna and transmitter. That's a very good thing!I'll never understand this type of stuff. You can literally build an antenna for under $5 that can pick up local channels in HD.
Be Creepy. Watch CBS. :biggrin:Go to Creepy Rob Lowe's house. He has cable.
