what would make you think it would seep into our team? When that seeps into a team, it`s a set up to get your butt kicked.

I've been saying this for a while. It's a big mistake for anyone to overlook MO. They have the talent and coaching, and I imagine they have the "want to" as well.
This is going to be a fight for the entire 60 minutes. Anyone who thinks we have this one won before it's played is badly mistaken.
Just a general statement of observation from over the years, and not necessarily concerning us. Not saying that it has in any way.what would make you think it would seep into our team?
i realize that i come at it with a certain amount of "bias", but for the life of me i cannot understand how our team's performance this year to get themselves to #1 going into the seccg doesn't instill an insane amount of confidence in their ability to win.I think there is a big difference in this team and last years team. They seem more focused on the big picture. They have shown they can come back and win games while being knocked down.
I would be more worried if Blake wasn't our leader. Leadership is different this year....no entitlement.
Me too, Chukker, to a large extent. I also learned during Coach Bryant`s time to never take any opponent for granted. I too have an expectation to win.Being a proper Bama fan can be tricky.
If you have confidence and feel good going into a game...it can be said you are overlooking the opponent.
However, if you don't expect to win the game and are dreading getting beat, it can also be said you are disrespecting the team and the positive things they've accomplished this season.
Growing up during the Bryant years, I learned to expect Bama to win when they play a football game. That was an easy rule to follow. It got more difficult after he left, but I stuck with that expectation, even when my head said it was crazy. Looking back...being a Pollyanna type, always expecting to win...has served me well.
Any game we play...I expect to win. That's not to say I don't think some teams will play us harder than other teams will...but I've seen Bama win often enough to be surprised when we don't. I hope we don't lose enough games to change my mindset, but I can't see that happening...I was raised that way... trained and spoiled by Coach Bryant.
We are, but matchups are what wins games. The biggest matchups will be Sasser vs Jones and Ray/Golden vs our Oline. Not overlooking them but seeing the reality that Bama is the better team at every position including DL (MU's apparent strength). Therefore, by logical deduction from the empirical evidence Bama should cover the double digit spread with ease.
Probably remembering last year and realizing there are no givens.i realize that i come at it with a certain amount of "bias", but for the life of me i cannot understand how our team's performance this year to get themselves to #1 going into the seccg doesn't instill an insane amount of confidence in their ability to win.
This Alabama fan isn't overlooking the Mizzou Tigers.Chukker Veteran;2538114[B said:]The Bama fans [/B]are overlooking Missouri. How disappointing. When are these Bama fans ever going to start understanding the many challenges to winning big time in college ball?
I think Alabama is going to win and win big. I also thought we would win big against Utah in the 2008 Sugar Bowl.i realize that i come at it with a certain amount of "bias", but for the life of me i cannot understand how our team's performance this year to get themselves to #1 going into the seccg doesn't instill an insane amount of confidence in their ability to win.
You covered 'em and don't forget penalties, negative playsThis Alabama fan isn't overlooking the Mizzou Tigers.
They put their pants on one leg at a time just like ours. Sometimes, STUFF just happens. That oblong ball sometimes does funny things with the way it bounces, with the way it is thrown, with the way it is carried, with the way it is KICKED, etc.
I am concerned about that D line of Mizzou! They usually have a mad dog rush of the opposing QB. Stay safe Blake!
I am concerned about their QB! He looks like a young Abraham Lincoln! Our DL/LB's need to put his behind on the ground or at least the hard turf in the Georgia Dome! If you can't sack him, keep those arms and hands high so he can't complete passes!
I am concerned about those RB's: Hansbrough and Murray! Stop 'em in their tracks!
I am concerned about at least 3 of those WR's! Don't even let them see the ball.
They do have a decent Head Coach! Put more gray hairs on that man's head!
I am concerned about their appetite for turnovers! Hang on to the ball! No TO's!
I am actually concerned about their LB's! Put them on their behinds with pancake blocks!
I am concerned about their DB's! Let's see if they can keep up with #9, #2, #22, #1, #8, #7, #88
I am concerned about their Special Teams play!
I'm concerned about that coin they use in the coin toss!
I'm concerned about who is officiating this game!
Other than that, I'm OKAY!
I`m sure there are lots of people overlooking Missouri. I`ve followed Alabama football for far too long to do that personally. I`d fret if we were playing Presbyterian School for the Blind!
