And that's why college football is better in the south than anywhere else. People care it about more. Plain and simple..
Friday night in a huge NLF stadium. How many people work on Fridays and can travel to another state on a moment's notice? That's the difference. Big difference between early Friday evening and Saturday.
Bama fans travel regardless of the day of the week. Are Southern workers the only ones who work hard enough to deserve paid days off?
Edit: Or maybe Southerners save their vacation days for the fall since football is taken more seriously around here.

I believe ya, but driving from one western state to another, distance wise, is like driving through about 5 eastern states.
I don't like playing Friday games, but I guess the PAC 12 wanted the attention of having the only Friday conference championship.

That is a good point. Some here criticized the SEC playing in the afternoon and not in prime time but we had a national audience pretty much to ourselves.
In the south football is a religion, from Pop Warner football, to high school football, and on to college football..We come out in the rain, cold, or even hot weather in the south..We pack our stadiums full & come out to support of Boys..And in high school marching bands, our girls & boys, puts in a lot of practice during the hot summer sun, perfecting their music, so they will put on a great half-time show in our pack stadiums every Friday nights in the south..Our kids do their part, and puts in a lot practice, and it makes us all sooo proud of them all & we do our part & come out in full force supporting our kids..It's a pride thang in the south & a lot of it..JMHO..
