He'll be awarded the honor given to the nation's top assistant today in Little Rock.

Enjoy him while we got him

Re: Lane Kiffin - 2014 Broyles Award Winner

I admit I wasn't too sure about hiring Kiffin, but it's worked out very well. Congrats to him. He deserved the award. Unfortunately, I think we're going to have to replace him after the next two games.

Well Deserved!! Congrats to CLK!! I may be dead wrong but I think he will be our OC for at least 3-4 more years. He seems to love it here and he has Cornwell to work with and Barnett coming in this Jan.

Some of my favorite images now are...

Him sneakily calling plays behind the play-sheet.
The TD Fistpump...and
The pre-emptive TD signal on the corner post before the ball is released :D

Is this confirmed? I know Dunaway tweeted it but the Broyles award people quickly shot that down. Said it wasn't announced till later this morning.

I dont think he gets another head coaching opportunity that quickly.

Re: Lane Kiffin - 2014 Broyles Award Winner

A well deserved award, congrats.
My understanding is that he will be allowed to speak directly to the media after the final game of the season.
If a reporter were to ask this question, I bet it would generate an interesting answer:

"You've seen both the SEC and the Pac 12 as an assistant coach and a head coach, do you have an opinion about which is the tougher conference to win?"

What do Lane Kiffin and Urban Meyer have in common, besides being really good coaches? Neither one wanted to spend their career competing with Saban in the SEC. If we beat Ohio State like a drum, does anybody think they might want to swap Urban for Lane?

He'll get a HC position some day, but I don't think it will be next season. I think we have him for at least 2 more years but you never know.

Very well deserved. He's been a great coach. IMO, the best offensive coordinator we've had. Thanks CLK for your hard work and enthusiasm. He's a man with a very bright future.

Who would of thought that the same coach that we all giggled at and beat in 2009....would end up being such a critical role in our success this year. I am glad he came to Bama, Saban is a genius to bring him in.

Kiffin deserves every recognition that he gets. He has been exactly what we needed on offense.

I would not be surprised if he heads back to the NFL as a coordinator.

I can't see him recruiting players like QB Blake Barnett from California so hard and diligently and then turning around and leaving after a year or two. I think he'll be here a lot longer than most expect.

I just want to get a chance to see him coach a season or two with Blake Barnett and Calvin Ridley!

The job he did with Blake Sims was reminiscent of the one Homer Smith did with Gary Hollingsworth. Both amazing.

Re: Lane Kiffin - 2014 Broyles Award Winner

I've been very pleased with Lane. I'm glad to see us finally attempting to use scheme to beat the defense rather than just sheer talent differential. I truly haven't correctly predicted what we are going to do on offense on many plays this year. The past few years I have had a pretty good idea, I think opposing DC's have as well.
