I'm assuming that this just replaces the ring that the NCAA awards the winners. I know that the players have always received three rings except for the year we beat LSU and didn't win the SECC. One SECC ring, one NCAA national championship ring, and one national championship ring designed by the players/coaches.

Nice, and the winners will also get their conference championship rings. Does Alabama still give its players an AP championship ring?

The NCAA has not previously recognized football champions because there's never been a playoff, just the polls.
