The shutdown of the UAB football program has ended up bringing some help to Georgia’s defense.
Linebacker Jake Ganus, who led the Blazers in tackles the past two seasons, posted on Twitter that he is joining the Bulldogs as a transfer. He would be able to play immediately in 2015.
“I’m so blessed and honored to be able to finish my college football career at the University of Georgia! #DawgsOnTop,” he tweeted.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Chelsea, Ala., product will have one season of eligibility remaining.
