All of the assistants signed their contract but not Chavis... Something isn't right about this. IS it because he knows what will happen next year?
Your post assume Les is in fact thinkingMakes me wonder what Les is thinking
Making a lateral move to a divisional rival when you have a contract offer/raise on the table to stay put does seem bizarre if it happens. I would agree that there's something fishy about it...All of the assistants signed their contract but not Chavis... Something isn't right about this. IS it because he knows what will happen next year?
http://theadvocate.com/news/11214117-123/sources-lsu-defensive-coordinator-john That may help as well!Reading the LSU board, their sources are saying that it's the clause issue in Chavis' contract. Also some internal issues... and it's sounding like they will meet tonight to iron it out, but it may be too late.
If that is the hang up, I don't blame him. That number looks big, but with all the gnashing of teeth over Miles I'd want my money guaranteed.
We've had a couple of long, game clinching drives against his defense the last couple of years.Yah, Chavis has really done well at LSU - it's easy to forget the term '3rd and Chavis' came about due to his defenses' abysmal performance on third and long while at UT. Something changed for him at LSU (beyond the superior athletes) - he's been consistently better there.
Ok that makes more sense.http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2014/12/lsu_defensive_coordinator_john_16.html#incart_breaking
Apparently, A&M is still wooing Chavis with a $1.7mil per year offer. New contract offer from LSU hasn't been signed.
Shhhhhhh! We've had a couple of long, game clinching drives against his defense the last couple of years.
