This is a must watch.

You have possession of the ball down 41-17 with under 3 minutes to go. You need to somehow score 4 times and get 3 onside kicks. Witness the "Greatest Comeback in Football History."

The greatest comeback that didn't matter really..

I had rather lose 41-17 or 41-24 then to come back, take the lead, and lose on a returned kick to end the game.

i would think a fundamental requirement of being considered the greatest comeback would be winning

If you listen to HS football broadcasts, almost all of the guys calling the games sound like Rick and Bubba. Some of them are funny, though.

I remember watching this on Sports Center. I laughed several times watching this. Good stuff but I wish the quality of the video was better.

What a heartbreaker. I think the announcers probably broke down.

Good question. I think the coach saw the other team lined up with most of the team ten yards off the ball and just decided to kick it deep instead of squibbing.

My brother-in-law went to John Tyler - the high school that won the game - and showed this to me years ago. I really cracked up the first time I heard it when the one announcer goes "break out the Oreos, baby!".

I honestly believe that the announcers from Varsity Blues patterned their "style" after these guys.
