For those wondering why we can track cellphones but can't immediately find aircraft after catastrophic crashes, I posit that your cellphone, if propelled at speeds in excess of 300 mph from a height upwards of 20,000 ft into a violent storm over an ocean, would in all probability soon lose its traceability as well.
Also, there are no cell phone towers in the Java Sea

Loss of control due to violent weather could result in an inflight breakup from excessive loads on the airframe.
This is very true. The plane could have been torn asunder by a violent downburst. It didn't require any bomb, and this plane was a very low priority for a bomber, anyway...

Nevertheless, the technology exists today for this or the other SE Asian plane to be pinpointed immediately in real time. The airlines will never install it because of cost, unless it's required of them...

Authorities investigating the crash of AirAsia 8501 say there is no indication from information in the plane's black boxes that an act of terrorism was responsible for bringing down the flight.
According to the story, investigator Andreas Hananto said the recordings revealed that the pilots were trying to save the plane.

"In that critical situation, the recording indicates that the pilot was busy with the handling of the plane."
