Absolutely not. They were freedom fighters. It's extremism only if it's way different from the current practice AND the left doesn't agree with it.
It was hilarious watching Marie Harf and Josh "Not So" Earnest twist themselves into knots saying that it was not focused on Islamic extremism, that there are other types (couldn't list even one), and then saying how the attacks in Paris were people perverting a great religion. These people won't even get it if they are ever on their knees, facing a camcorder, surrounded by hooded men chanting Allah Uh Akbar all while having a Black sheet with Islamic Symbols behind them.
