It was happening then, the information age has just made it harder to hide now. This current version of college football is not what I grew up loving to follow. Almost more scandals and disgusting situations than there are things to cheer for.
Shh. Don't tell folks that. You'll ruin their childhood. It was happening then, the information age has just made it harder to hide now.
unmitigated horse crap. jmho, of course.Really wish the Paterno family would just shut up instead of releasing statements like this:
Pretty sure that's not just an opinion. Rock solid fact.unmitigated horse crap. jmho, of course.
Could not agree more.Never cared about the wins. This was never a football issue - it was a legal issue. The involvement of football staff does not change that. Making it a football issue allowed Penn State to survive as an institution. Therein was the mistake.
Many innocent people suffered (and are still suffering today) because of the actions taken by this institution. All of those who are so ready to forgive and forget what happened at Penn State should remember that - those kids had their lives damaged permanently. How must they feel to see that their story is already forgotten? Does anyone really care about them? Did anyone ever really care about them?
IMO, the school should have lost its accreditation and been shut down.
100% agree! This is outrageous. The NCAA has just set a precedence that even harboring and enabling a child rapist for decades, to keep from hurting the football program, is not grounds for vacating wins. I think Alabama and every other school that ever had wins vacated should sue the NCAA to have those wins restored.
This is what I said all along. It was an institutional problem. Can't figure out why some want to blame the football players and not the U.Never cared about the wins. And even after the dismissal, Sandusky was still granted full access to PSU AD facilities. This is a joke, but it follows what has been happening at FSU as well. The truth is covering up for a rapist really might be worth it, if all you care about is the football team...
Just in case anyone is confused about this issue, when Penn State (and Paterno) first became aware of what Sandusky had been up to, they waited until after the football season was over to quietly dismiss him. You heard that right, he was raping children, but let's wait until the season is over before we take even that wholly inadequate step.
How sweet of you to be concerned.Shh. Don't tell folks that. You'll ruin their childhood.
The NCAA's giving 'em back the wins only because Franklin vowed under oath never to verbally assault prospective assistant coaches' wives as "hot."Another glorious day for Ped State.
