Memphis punishes brawlers

Officials announced Tuesday that they had identified 12 players who took part in the brawl that followed Memphis' 55-48 double overtime win over BYU on Dec. 22.

BYU had no immediate comment on how many Cougars might face punishment.

I have been wondering what the punishment would be. Some will be suspended for more than one game and from practice. That is not a wrist slap -- unless those were seniors :D

Well if the coach is legit, the missed practice time hurts badly. Another guy is in his place getting prepped for the game, so the suspended guy loses playing time as a result, AND he misses the chance to develop through practice reps.

Check out Memphis' record last year compared to the four or so decades before that ... I think the coach is legit.
