Hmm I do get what he is saying, but considering everything, it was their defense that cost them some games this year.
Their Offense cost them the Texas A & M game. Oh well, it was the Defense as well as ineffective play by the offense that ultimately lead to their defeat. One example was a snap that hit the center in the butt and never made it to the QB.

To be honest the stats look too close to point to whether it was the offense's fault or defense. But one thing that is obvious that doesn't show up in those stats are the key lucky breaks in 2013 that didn't break for them in 2014. THAT is why they did so well in 2013. That was the luckiest season (minus the title game) I'd ever seen a team have.
There was 6 yards difference between 2013 and 2014. 80 in 2013 and 86 in 2014. It is called LUCK.

Realistically it was a combination of several things, but if your team scores 44 points you should win, so that has to be on the defense. Their defense was not deep they wore down and they had maybe the most overrated DC in the history of college football, not a recipe for winning.
