The suspension of Jermaine Whitehead two games into the season threw Auburn's safety position into flux, and the Tigers never really recovered. Without Whitehead's experience in the back end, missed assignments were an ongoing problem, and Auburn tried a bunch of different combinations at the position to fix it.
