It will be interesting to see what happens. Will he decide to retire for good? If not, will Denver keep him?

It all comes down to Manning. The best thing for the franchise may be if the quarterback calls it a career before March 9.
No matter how good of a case you present for the long-term future of the Broncos without Manning (and with his $19 million), there's still no doubt that you are seriously jeopardizing the short-term chances of the franchise. Manning is still arguably the best quarterback in the NFL, and maybe he really was just hampered by a thigh injury at the end of the season. After all, it wasn't until December that he started struggling.

These types of decisions, when made by players of Peyton's ability, tend to be made based on recent rsults on the field. In other words, I think it depends on how well Denver does next year.
