Rivals named CMC Recruiter of the Year

Buzz: OK, so recruiting to Alabama in 2015 isn't exactly selling ice to Eskimos. Still, the haul Cristobal lured to Tuscaloosa is impressive. The Tide offensive line coach played a major role in landing five-stars Minkah Fitzpatrick, Daron Payne and Calvin Ridley. In short, the Florida native was responsible for building the foundation of the nation's No. 2 class and the top class in the powerful SEC. He also added four stars Lester Cotton and Shawn Burgess-Becker. Landing three-star prospect Matt Womack is an afterthought, but it certainly wasn't simple, as even in that instance, Cristobal had to fight off other SEC programs that could offer a better chance at playing time. Cristobal's Recruiter of the Year title was certainly earned. Despite what fans may think, the Alabama program doesn't magically recruit top talent by itself. -- Rob Cassidy, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

Alabama's Cristobal is 247Sports Recruiter of the Year

Alabama earned its fifth straight No. 1 recruiting class by the slimmest of margins on Wednesday. That wouldn’t have happened without the efforts of offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, the 247Sports National Recruiter of the Year.

The National Recruiter of the Year is determined using the 247Sports Recruiter Rankings. That list is formulated using the 247Sports Composite ratings of the commits that each assistant coach had a primary or secondary role in landing. Cristobal just happened to land the mother lode.

In total, Cristobal had a hand in landing 10 commits out of the 2015 class at Alabama. That’s just under half of the 24 prospects that ultimately committed or signed with the Crimson Tide. Among those commits, Cristobal managed to touch New Jersey, south Florida, Washington, D.C., and even some more local homegrown talent.

2015 SCOUT NATIONAL RECRUITER OF THE YEAR

Another year, another big recruiting haul for Nick Saban and the University of Alabama.

To have the kind of success the Crimson Tide has on the recruiting trail, it has to have good coaches who can evaluate, recruit, and close. It has quite of a few of those.

The coach who did the best job in 2015 is offensive line coach Mario Cristobal and he has been named Scout's 2015 National Recruiter of the Year.
