The huge problem with this is that it was very likely poorly secured. It takes a lot of money and effort to properly setup and secure a mail server, and maintain that security. Not that the money isn't there, but you are talking about someone who realistically doesn't have a clue about IT things and even less about IT Security. There's no telling what kind of hacks were done to that server and how many countries have had access to her conversations for however long she's had it running.
and to toot my own horn...seems someone is now showing evidence that the server was/is not properly secured.

The U.S. State Department has so far identified 305 emails from Hillary Clinton's private server used while she was secretary of state to be reviewed for potentially classified information, the agency said in a court filing on Monday.

Clinton last week handed over to the FBI her private server, which she used to send, receive and store emails during her four years as secretary of state. The bureau is holding the machine in protective custody after the intelligence community's inspector general raised concerns recently that classified information had traversed the system.

A computer server isn't a marvel of modern technology. Just like a home desktop, the computer's data is stored on a hard drive. It's unclear whether the drive that Clinton used was thoroughly erased before the device was turned over to federal agents.

Does anyone else find it odd that the government still issues Blackberries?
No as 2003tide mentioned Blackberries and BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) are far more secure inherently and much easier to keep secure for a vast variety of reasons.

I'm wondering how her lawyer has a TS clearance and a need to know in order to have the thumb drive with the emails that contain TS information with him much less the proper storage facilities for it. Probably kept it in his desk drawer. Can we just send them all to jail and be done with it. It's already proven you can go to jail and still get elected, it will just delay her run for president by 20 years or so.

FWIW, I heard he was sent a safe to keep it secure.
