The Penn hire is interesting for anybody here who contends that Amaker of Harvard (by way of a downward career trajectory at Seton Hall and Michigan) might be able to do anything besides recruit to his advantage and twiddle his thumbs on an Ivy League sideline. Donahue was a terrific at Cornell, not so much upon his "promotion" (and subsequent dismissal) at BC.

And by the way, Boston College has been overlooked above as one of the schools that's fired their coach (Donahue) and yet to name a new coach (with Amaker said to be the favorite for the job from Day 1 - but now that two weeks have passed without him being named, maybe BC has come to their senses too).
BC does not show up on any list that I have found. On their website their coach is listed as Jim Christian.

Steve Prohm signed an extension with Murray State today. Not that it really matters if a bigger school comes calling.

Look for Dan Hurley to be in the mix at St. John's, source told ESPN.

Richard Pitino could try to get in at St. John's (as well as Tennessee).

Chris Mullin will be another candidate for St. John's, I would imagine. Alums love him.

Another name to keep an eye on for St. John's: Steve Masiello.

Two names that I've heard in connection to the Tennessee job are Michael White and Richard Pitino. I think they may have wanted White last year and he rejected them for whatever reason (not sure if that's true or no). Apparently Pitino is desperate to get out of Minnesota because his name is mentioned with almost every opening out there.

I can't remember another year where Coaches have been fired in such a mass.

ESPN is reporting it so I will go ahead and add Texas to the list. I was hoping they would hold off until Monday which I think would have given us time to wrap up Marshall. Starting to get nervous about Marshall now.

Two coaches interested in the Texas opening and who will be in the mix to replace Barnes are Wichita State's Gregg Marshall and VCU's Shaka Smart, according to sources.
