Jay Rome, the fifth-year senior tight end who caught a touchdown pass in the SEC championship game in 2012 as a redshirt freshman, says he’s spending more time with the Georgia playbook now than he has since he first arrived on campus four years ago.
The reason? There’s a new system to grasp under first-year offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
“Everybody’s basically a freshman or a rookie, too, in, coach Schotty’s offense,” Rome said. “I feel like I’ve had to do a lot more studying to get everything down.”
