I read last year that this was the plan, announced by Holtz himself. Not sure why it would be a surprise. I never expected him back...

I'm going to miss old Lou. He caught a lot of flack because of his homerism, but he was a true showman with an unmatched passion and knowledge for the game. He was an annoying old codger, but he is a legend at everything he's done. Halftime won't be the same without him.

I thought he was funny when he wasn't "outraged" at something. He and May were pretty funny together. I'd much rather Holtz return than someone like Kannell who is just a pot stirrer for the sake/ ratings of it.
