The first baseman led the Tide in hitting this past week, batting .714 over four games

TUSCALOOSA, AL - Alabama first baseman Cody Henry was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The award marks the first in-season conference honor the Crimson Tide has collected in 2015.
Henry excelled this past week, finishing up a four-game stretch batting .714 (10-14) with two doubles and one triple to go with his four walks. He also added five RBI and four runs scored. In his first game of the week, Henry tied his previous career-high with three hits against Samford, one of which was a double.
The Cantonment, Fla., native got off to a hot start in the weekend set with Georgia, registering a career-high four hits against the Bulldogs in the Crimson Tide's 7-6, extra-innings win. The four hits tied the season high by an Alabama hitter, and he finished that game just a home run short of hitting for the cycle. Sunday's contest was perhaps the best game of his freshman campaign. The first baseman reached base safely in all four plate appearances, finishing 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored.
Henry has been hot as of late, currently owning a seven-game hitting streak over which he is batting .600 (15-25) with three doubles, a triple, six RBI, four runs scored and seven walks. Across that streak, Henry has put together multi-hit efforts in six of those seven games. Overall, Henry is batting .313 (20-64) across 22 games played, 16 of which he has started.
Henry and the Crimson Tide will welcome UAB to the Hoover Met tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. The game will air live on the SEC Network. Following the midweek contest, Alabama will head to Columbia for a weekend series with the Missouri Tigers.
