True that Blake's legs were an asset for us, but he wasn't our leading rusher, as I believe Miller was for OSU..
Sims didn't have to be our leading rusher. We had Drake, Henry and Yeldon for that. Sims run counted the most when we needed it. It's not about the stats number. Sims made huge plays with his feet against Ttexas A and M, Florida, LSU, Auburn, Mizzoui, etc.
Also a good point on Coker not starting after transferring. It may not be really any different than bringing in blue chip recruits each and every year to compete, but I suspect it would be an issue used against us in recruiting - even if the argument is they won't help you develop at Bama. It might cost us sometime, it might not.
Coker didn't get the starting job because he didnt know the playbook well, Was slow at making the calls at the games several times... If he had locked those down, He would've started instead of Sims... Sims won because he had chemistry and been in the system longer.
.....he would be an excellent addition for the scout team to help our defense prepare for anyone and anything (that miss state qb is looking lethal again)
I wouldn't mind seeing Braxton Miller come on the field situationally. He doesn't need to know the whole playbook, just a handful of plays we can execute on 100% of the time to move the dang ball downfield is all we ask. And if Braxton Miller can do that, what's the issue?
Miller, if assumed is coming to Alabama... He's not going to sign with us just to be on scout team. CNS and CLK will find a way for him to be on the field if he don't win the job... If he does come to Alabama at all. HE can probably get playing time at RB or WR due to the depth issues we have at both positions. If miller wins the job, I think we'll be fine. If Coker wins the job, we'll be fine. If Cornwell wins the job, We'll be fine.
