Just for fun I have made a depth chart for who I think willstart or contribute against Wisconsin. This is just my opinion and by no means the definite lineup. I have yet to get it approved from Saban J I just thinks it’s fun to discuss and debate who will play where and if certain players will redshirt. I also have an opinion of who might transfer and maybe move to different positions as well due to depth. I love hearing everyone else’s thoughts and opinions because I love my Alabama team and think even in the off-season us fans can predict and speculate leading up to the game because that’s what we are here for ;)

First off I believe that Bateman will probably transfer after having a sub-par spring. Bateman has always been my favorite pick to surprise and pass up Coker as the starter. I guess with just all the competition at QB it has finally got to him. Still think he could be really good somewhere. Maybe he is a team player and will stay and just help out the team. I feel that Cornwell will take the majority of the second team reps to prepare him for an all-out battle with Barnett for next year. Morris I think likes Tuscaloosa and will stay here until he graduates maybe having a similar Blake Sims story.

As for the freshman already here and incoming I believe that RB Harris will make an immediate impact. Just with all of the injuries ahead of him he should get a chance to showcase himself. Same goes for receivers and tight ends. I think Ridley will play a lot as well as Hentges. Charlot could play some mop up duty but also could surprise people with his return ability and get more opportunities as the season goes on. I moved Deionte Thompson back to safety because of Burgess-Becker coming in. I know Burgess-Becker played a lot of wide receiver in high school so I imagine the transition would be smooth. Thompson is a ball-hawking safety and needs to redshirt to gain muscle and weight fornext season.

As for as the O-Lineman coming in I believe due to depth that Cotton, Womack and possibly Petitbon will get a chance to impress during fall and into the season. I think Cotton will eventually be groomed to takeover the RT spot after Dominick Jackson leaves. As for Kennedy and Warmack I think they will both redshirt due to depth in front of them. I know they came early in the spring but I just think the others coming in are that good. JMO though.

I think Jennings could play Jack or WDE but because of size. I think he will start out at WDE. He has similar size as Allen and Hand did coming in. Payne I think will play because of his freak athleticism for his size but won’t really make a splash until his sophomore year. I’m not sure about Bell coming in this fall but I put him there thinking we might have room because of the departures. McMillon and Thomas are definitely positions of need and I think they will get plenty of opportunities to impress both in the defense and special teams. Mekhi Brown may need to redshirt like Miller did toget stronger. We seem to have a lot of depth there making it that much harder to play.

I’m torn between Sheffield and Fitzpatrick having a bigger role this season. I know they are both studs but they are also playing one ofthe most complicated positions on this team. My opinion is they will both playing mop-up duty and on special teams. Anderson is one to keep an eye on. He was a tackling machine much like Sunseri was coming out of high school. I think he could play safety as a hybrid. Probably will redshirt. Ronnie Harrison looks like he could be the next Mark Barron. Big rangy safety that can lay down thewood. Too good to sit this year. The rest of the players I have highlighted as either a starter, major contributor or just mop-up duty. Please discuss and Roll Tide!

Rivals Rating
* = Injured
Red = Starter
Blue = Major Contributor
Green = Mop Up Duty

Pretty good stuff. At A-Day Anderson started at Jack with Devall out and that's really where he's played so far, so I think he'll be in a heavy rotation, or even take the starting JLB job. Lee will probably 'start' at SAM, but I doubt we use the base package a lot so might not see him a lot, unfortunately.

Marlon Humphrey you have as not contributing. He looked like the best corner on the field A day. Be hard for a true Freshman to come in and get ahead of him with only the summer.

I agree with you I think he will play a lot this fall. That's why I had him in blue font as a major contributor.

Ah ok on my phone blue and black look the same. What color is Sheffield?
That's my bad. I went back and forth on even doing the different colors. Very easy to confuse. I put Sheffield as green and probably only playing in mop up duty. JMO You think the he will have a bigger role this season?

No I think you are right. I thought you had him as a starter next year.
