Did not know Nick was a McDonald's All American. Have we ever had one?
I think he was a Parade All-American, not McDonald's.

But we have had one here and there, per this site: http://statsheet.com/mcb/teams/alabama/recruiting#mcdonalds

2012 Devonta Pollard, DeKalb, MS
2008 JaMychal Green, Montgomery, AL (St. Jude)
2005 Richard Hendrix, Athens, AL
2001 Mo Williams, Jackson, MS (Murrah)
2000 Gerald Wallace, Childersburg, AL
1989 James Robinson, Jackson, MS (Murrah)
1989 Jamal Faulkner, Middle Village, NY (Christ the King)
1982 Buck Johnson, Birmingham, AL (Hayes)
1981 Ennis Whatley, Birmingham, AL (Phillips)
1981 Bobby Lee Hurt, Huntsville, AL (Butler)

Just an aside: That class from the early '80s was probably the best real chance we've had at winning it all, and the big-timers were in-state. If we rack up in recruiting in 2016 and 2017, with the in-state class we'll have, we could see something we haven't seen in 35 years. Let's get over that Elite 8 hump first, but if the man can coach as good as he's recruiting and organizing, we'll be in good shape.
