9 blacks killed by a white guy, the President wants gun control. So black lives only matter, when a white guy kills them?

Where's the President on black on black crime that is decimating many of the inner city communities? Just look at Baltimore after the police pull back.

The POTUS just needs to shut the crap up sometimes. Guns do not kill people, nuts with guns kill people.
I'm in total agreement with what YOU said.

Was that a gun that killed people in the Boston Marathon? Heck no! Nuts will find a way to kill people if you take guns away.

If guns are taken away, then the only people having them will be the BAD guys. The good guys need something for protection for themselves and their families instead of a fly swatter! Taking guns away would be like trying to escort all people who illegally entered our country out of it. You'll never find all of them. And if guns are taken away, tyranny will exist and we will not be able to do anything about it. It could be the tyranny of the ELITE.

Some people have NO clue. This is enough to make me want to join the NRA.

How can our President condone what's happening to Blacks in Chicago and elsewhere. Why aren't the Rev. Jessie Jackson and the Rev. Al S. doing something positive about this.

Did the Hutus and Tutsis use guns to massacre each other? As I recall, it was mostly machetes and other hand held weaponry.

As far as solutions go, I'm considering a betting pool on how long it takes before the NRA announces that these things wouldn't happen if people carried guns in churches.
Nice rhetoric, but what real solutions can you offer?

People love to get caught up in the emotion of the tragedies, but what can we do to reduce them? I'm a gun owner, and I also want to eliminate these shootings - so instead of trying to rile people up, why not offer a real-world solution?

Why not? Because I've had a crappy week and I'm ....ed--even more so after learning that a friend of the shooter said that the shooter had been planning an attack for six months--and it never once occurred to him to open his damn mouth and tell someone. What "real world" solution is possible when people demonstrate such utter lack of individual responsibility? What solution is possible when every time Obama even broaches the subject, the right attacks like a rabid pack of Pavlovian dogs (witness this thread)?

So, no, sorry, I don't have any solutions tonight. I'm just damned tired.

I don't think this is a solution, but... The problem isn't more legislation that is needed, just like throwing more money into education won't solve our problems there. There's a lack of respect for human life that wasn't there 40-50 years ago even though guns were just as easy or easier to obtain. gang violence has also changed; instead of bats and knives, now it's shoot first for being disrespected (I.e. Aaron Hernandez allegedly shot two ppl for spilling a drink on him in a crowded bar).

When the problem is an issue of ethics/ morality, how does the government fix that?

Real world answers?

Orphanages and Insane Asylums. Then put your most honest, your most logical, and your most moral person in charge of it all.

I agree it's not guns. We have a "crazy" problem. And Crazy + Liberal Policies + Guns = this. Unfortunately you can't blame "crazy" and there is no one to change the policies. Guns are the only thing they can go after.

I'm going to say what I gotta say and step away. I know I'm going to be blasted by some folks and that's OK. You won't change the facts.

Years ago when there was a general regard for human life, when there was a general sense of decent morals, when the percentage of kids in single parent homes was low, you had Bibles, prayer, and discipline in public schools.

It take only takes some quick research to discover that rampage killers, acts of terror (as the Charleston shooting most certainly is), school attacks, spree killers are not unique to the United States.
The idea that violence is uniquely American is best left to fringe leftists on college campuses. Moreover, as The Associate Press reported in 2012, many experts contend that mass shootings are not growing in frequency at all. One has data that shows that mass shootings reached their peak in 1929 and have declined steadily since. Overall, gun violence has also been declining since 1993.
Several examples cited therein. The author even invokes Godwin's Law.

With all of our "gun violence", we don't even hold the record for the worst mass killing by an individual with a gun. Anders Behring Breivik killed ~67 of his fellow Norweigans in 2011.

And what about governments with guns? Should we consider governments that kill their own people en masse?

Liberal ideology has taken over society. The family is no longer sacred. Responsible behavior is no longer sacred. Children are increasingly brought up in unstable environments and fed drugs to keep them from acting out. So we have more and more people that are cracked out, insane, etc, and no one is brave enough to speak up when something looks odd because that would be politically incorrect, bigoted, intolerant, etc. And all the president (who is a part of the ideology that has brought about this societal train wreck) can do is offer up confiscating guns. The same stupid worn out "solutions."

Politicians cannot fix this.

So his "friend" should be arrested and charged with being an accessory before the fact. He knew what was being planned, knew the consequences thereof but did nothing to prevent it. This tragedy could very well have been prevented had he just opened his mouth and warned others of the impending threat.

The only thing Obama wants is complete gun control, as in a removal of all firearms from peace loving citizens, which makes all Americans weaker in the face of tyrannical actions by the government. That's not a real world solution.
If you have a real world solution, let's hear it Or do you only follow what Obama and the other leftists tell you?
