Hopefully, the brothers will sue RS out of existence and every other journalistic enterprise will sit up and take notice. Get your dadgum facts straight before you go to print.

At $75,000/count, that seems unlikely to end the RS (settlement bait maybe?). UVa has sued for $7.5 million, however.

If I were on the jury, however, I'd hit RS with punitive damages that would take their breath away.

Looks as if that's simply the minimum for Federal Court:
The former students' lawsuit does not specify a target monetary punishment, other than to say it's above the $75,000 threshold for a federal court. It seeks damages, a punitive payment and legal costs on behalf of each plaintiff, all of whom graduated from U.Va. in 2013. In addition to Rolling Stone, it names Sabrina Erdely, who wrote the article, and Wenner Media, the magazine's publisher.
