Georgia’s three-man quarterback race could be reduced to two after Saturday’s second preseason scrimmage. Or not.
“Until we really get a peace about if it’s down to a two-man race then we won’t make the move,” coach Mark Richt said. “I just don’t know when it’s going to be. It could be after the scrimmage possibly. ….There’s a decent chance that it will.”
Back in the spring, Richt had hoped to be able to name a starter around the third scrimmage as the team starts game planning, but Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta and Greyson Lambert remain in a tight battle.
Richt reiterated that two quarterbacks could be used in the opener “if we’re not sure.”
