Love it! Coach knows what he is doing to get his point across to his players and the media.http://espn.go.com/college-football...hes-media-attempted-bury-alabama-crimson-tide
Man he really went off on them.
I hate to admit it, but I've come to enjoy CNS' little tirades to the media's faces. They generally deserve every bit of it and he brings it. I'm reminded of "Here's a twenty, bury two."Saban at his weekly Monday noon press conference:
After watching the film, our guys did a good job in some tough conditions.
We beat a good team. That's good. But it is what it is (one game).
On UGA win: I'm happy with the statement our players made in the game. But there are certainly some things we can clean up.
We are what we are, if it continues. It's something we need to build on, improve on.
On injuries: A couple of guys are nicked up. We expect everybody to practice tomorrow.
Arkansas was a really physical game and they have 16 starters back. Razorbacks have improved with each week.
On Arkansas' physicality: You really have to have your jaw set to play well.
On Daron Payne: He's improving every week. Next step is to continue to play with consistency. Team is pleased with his development.
Consistency is a human behavior we all struggle with every day.
Asked about third downs - need to make some improvements, but mostly was "trying to take the air out" of the game.
Special teams have been better, but need more consistency out of specialists (JK Scott).
On if Coker is better in big games: We probably ran the ball better, helped with play-action and third downs, and then cautious
On Jarran Reed: "He's having a really good year. His production is up...He's shown a lot of leadership." Weight is down, quickness up.
On Henry: "I think he has had a really good year so far...He does seem to get stronger as the game goes on."
Said it's important to feature Derrick Henry in a way that's beneficial to him and the team. How can they do that? "Feed him the ball"
You can't talk trash and dance around on the field and focus on the things you need to focus on. Not mad at players over it.
On Ragland: "He has worked hard to improve. ... The better understanding and more confidence he has, the better he plays."
I hope no one on our team is playing for (the media). It's certainly not what I'm doing. I'm coaching for the players on our team.
On media: "If it was up to you, we're 6 foot under and dead and buried and gone. GONE."
Basically Saban was talking to national media who wrote "Alabama is on a down slide" after the Ole Miss loss. You know who they are.
I couldn't agree more! I absolutely love it when he goes off on the media! Every time he goes off it makes me grin from ear to ear!I hate to admit it, but I've come to enjoy CNS' little tirades to the media's faces. They generally deserve every bit of it and he brings it. So does the media.I couldn't agree more! I absolutely love it when he goes off on the media! Every time he goes off it makes me grin from ear to ear!
BOLCoker threw behind wide receiver ArDarius Stewart on an intermediate route, which led to an incompletion. Most of his other throws were thrown nicely while Coker further displayed his ability to effortlessly throw the ball hard and/or deep downfield.
Coker had a deep throw over the middle hit Stewart perfectly in stride. He also had long passes hit Stewart and wide receiver Raheem Falkins in stride in the back of the end zone while quarterbacks and wide receivers worked on trick plays, though Falkins dropped his.
During the second viewing period, Darren Lake and Daron Payne appeared to be the top-two defensive tackles in drills.
Agreed! I just wonder why it took the coaches so long to long to figure it out.I LOVE the quote about DH!!
FEED. THE. BEAST.Henry, a 6-foot-3, 238-pound Alabama commit, surpassed Ken Hall's previous record of 11,232 yards on a 52-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Hall, who held the record for nearly 60 years, played at Sugar Land (Texas) High School from 1950-53.
Henry finished the night with 482 yards and six touchdowns on 58 carries. He now has 11,612 yards and 148 TDs in his career.
Henry, No. 26 in the ESPN 150 and the No. 3 athlete in the country, has rushed for more than 100 yards in all 45 high school games in which he has played. He set Florida's single-game rushing record earlier this season with a 510-yard performance against Jacksonville Jackson.
