Georgia blames loss partly on jawing and provoking Bama before the game

There was a tremendous clamor for a rematch in 2011. Before THE GAME. When it appeared that Bama was going to be undefeated and the media darling LSU was going to have one loss. Everybody wanted LSU to have a second shot. When Bama lost, all of that went flying out the window. None of them wanted Bama to have a second shot.

Miami's "dynasty" was an accident of history. Look at the national champions around them:

1982 - Penn State (Independent)
1983 - Miami (Independent)
1984 - BYU (WAC)
1985 - Oklahoma (Big 8)
1986 - Penn State (Independent)
1987 - Miami (Independent)
1988 - Notre Dame (Independent)
1989 - Miami (Independent)
1990 - Colorado (Big 8)
1991 - Miami (Independent)

Notice anything unusual? Teams without conference affiliations won 7 of ten titles.
And the three teams with conference affiliations were from the absolute weakest conferences in the nation. The WAC was wack, and the Big 8 was a joke. It was a two horse race between Oklahoma and Nebraska every year, with Kansas and Kansas State routinely playing to see who would be the worst team in the country. Colorado only came to national prominence when Bill McCartney started trolling South Central Los Angeles for players that no one else would touch, and by that time, Oklahoma was in its post-Switzer death spiral.
