One of Georgia’s best defensive players was on the sideline for much of the second half.
Sack leader Jordan Jenkins tried to play through a groin injury, coach Mark Richt said.
“I think he tried to play in the second half, but he just couldn’t go,” he said. “I don’t know how serious it is.”
Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt said Jenkins “has been playing hurt for a few weeks now. He tried to go but couldn’t go.” Pruitt called the injury a muscle strain.
Jenkins did not record a tackle.
Leonard Floyd lined up on the edge and finished with six tackles.
He snagged a deflected ball and went 96 yards for a touchdown on the fumble recovery for Georgia’s first score after outside linebacker Davin Bellamy forced a fumble in the shadow of the goal-line.
Davin Bellamy had eight tackles.
The only sack for Georgia came from safety Dominick Sanders.
“There were times we got to (Josh Dobbs) and pressured him and batted balls down and things of that nature,” Richt said, “but there were times when he had more time and space in that pocket than you’d like to for him to have with the coverages we had.”
