Texas A&M defense is not one to be feared, that's for sure. Here are the numbers:

Texas A&M defensive stats so far:
Arkansas: 457 yards, 225 passing, 232 rushing.
Miss State: 406 yards, 210 passing, 196 rushing.
Nevada: 359 yards, 206 passing, 153 rushing.
Ball State: 361 yards, 121 passing, 240 yards rushing.

Offensive numbers against Alabama:
Arkansas: 220 yards, 176 passing and 44 yards rushing.
Ole Miss: 341 yards passing, 92 yards rushing.
Wisconsin: 268 yards, 228 yards passing, 40 yards rushing.
Georgia: 299 yards, 106 passing, 193 rushing

This game looks like one the Tide should win in the trenches. We shall see come Saturday how well the Bama defense can do versus this version of the TA&M spread HUNH attack. Thoughts?

This game will come down to the consistency of the Alabama offense IMO. Texas A&M will score some points and hit some big plays but the Alabama defense should be able to hold them to less than 30. On paper it would seem that the Alabama offense won't have a problem scoring at least 30 points..

Not necessarily true.

Well, I thought last year's game was going to be very close and it was 59-nuthin. Their offense isn't very powerful without Manziel.

That's fair but I think their offense is far better than Arkansas and Arkansas scored 14 points. I think the Alabama defense will hold up pretty good but I would be (pleasantly) shocked if we shut them out again..

Not without help. I think they'll put of some points. I'm just saying don't be so sure. They should have lost to Arky, until Arky let them back in it. In their on yard.

Did you intentionally disregard their biggest win thus far and not reference the ridiculous amount of sacks they seem to have. They played asu in case you are wondering what I'm referencing, and i honestly don't know the numbers

Crap, my bad -

ASU: 291, 199 passing, 92 rushing

Aggies had 9 sacks, while ASU had 3 in that game.

Plus -- keep in mind ---

Arkansas had one fluke play for 54 yards.... (that total should have been - 166 total yards)
Ole Miss - had 139 passing yards that shouldn't have happened..... (that total should have been 202 for passing yards -- and less than 300 total)
Georgia - 86 yard TD run -- should have limited UGA to 216 yards.....

I know those plays happened -- but, this Defense is pretty wicked.

A&M may put up 300 yards......but, it won't be easy.

I think we'll be okay. our Defense is lot better than it was few weeks ago. Less mental errors. Playing Smart. It depends on Hump and Minkah to show progress... I think they'llhit 200 yards... but nothing significant.

With the possible exception of Ole Miss, this will be the best receiving corps we have faced. It will be interesting to see if our young DBs keep their composure in that atmosphere and against this much talent. I suspect they will hold their own, especially if the quarterback is bent double.

the 14 points Arky got were due to an interception in our own 30 and the second TD was a lapse on the part of the defense with about 1:30 left to go with the game well in hand. I give hogs credit for capitalizing on those opportunities, but aside from those drives they didn't do jack.
