I seem to recall a version of the football story, or maybe it was another, where he talked about how good a running back was, and said in effect "I saw him comin. I got ready, and I stuck him. Fifteen yards later he fell down." Or something to that effect. His Mama/Women's Lib is a good one too. Heck, they all are.
It was Auburn running back Travis Tidwell and it was 27 yards.

"Son, what position do you play?"

Clower: "Sir, I am the man what runs with the football."

"After the first practice, it was determined that I would be playing on the defensive line"!

"I started the first game at left tackle. Once a tackle, always a tackle. And I want you to know something - it didn't shame me at all for them to find out I wudn't the man what run with the football. 'Cause ask any coach in the world if he's ever seen a football team that didn't have at least TWO good tackles; there ain't no such a thing!!!"
