Alabama basketball had three players score in double digits to help push the Crimson Tide past the Kennesaw State Owls, 77-64, on Friday evening in front 14,970 fans inside Coleman Coliseum. The win was the first of head coach Avery Johnson's collegiate coaching career. The 14,970 fans at tonight's game was the largest crowd at a home opener since a crowd of 15,043 fans were in attendance against North Carolina in the 1989 season opener.

Sounds like Dazon Ingram had a nice game (didn't get to watch as I was watching the Tarheels play). His line: 8 for 11, 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 turnover, and 2 steals. Nice!!

I don't know if Kennesaw is any good, but a win is a win. Congrats to Coach Johnson on his first win.

I'm watching the replay and it is a fun type of basketball to watch. Lots of energy, good pace, good ball movement, etc. To me, the players look relaxed. Hopefully when we play the tougher teams and inevitably lose, I hope we keep seeing the players play this brand of bball.

Where was that available? I couldn't find it on any channel last night.

I think Coleman's capacity is a bit more than 15,000. Given that, the actual attendance couldn't have been more than 7,000 - 8,000. I guess the official attendance is based on ticket sales.

It was exciting to see some upbeat play, good hustle from the team. No holding the ball to the last second, only to take a desperate shot. This team pushes the ball and pace of play, but not so much they're out of control. I know it was only Kennesaw State, but I'm excited to see how the team develops this year.
